About Me

Hello! My name is Emily Wilcockson, I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in Grange Park, West Swindon. We are only a two minute walk from Lydiard house and it’s surrounding gardens and play areas.

I always knew I wanted to work with children.... what better job can their be?? So as soon as I left school I started to educate myself as a childcare professional. Gaining a Level 3 NNEB qualification along with practical experience working in various nurseries and play centers.

I guess I really began in Childcare in the year 2000 working as a nursery nurse for Hillsborough Day Nursery where I very quickly progressed to Nursery supervisor then to Nursery manager. The time came in 2005 when I wanted to move on to other nurseries to expand on my experiences and learn new teaching techniques. This lead me to another managerial role at The Next Step Montessori Nursery in Stratton St Margaret between 2006-2008.

During this time I have undergone several other childcare related qualifications and assessments - Particularly staying up to date with all First Aid and Food Safety requirements etc.

In late 2007 I was excited to find out that I was expecting my first child, with the arrival of my son in August 2008 I took it upon myself to use the knowledge and expertise I had gained over the years to begin my own childminding business in my home.

I am now a registered childminder who is fully insured through the National Childminding Association, offering childcare in a friendly, relaxed home environment to children aged 0-8 years. I am also offering a before & after school service from schools in the West Swindon area.

I live with my partner Paul, our 7 month old son Jack, and Charlie the Chinchilla. As part of the OFSTED registration both Paul and myself are CRB checked.
